Terms
These terms summarize the expected alpha usage boundaries for PsyCloud-hosted research workflows. They are product documentation, not a substitute for institution-specific agreements, IRB materials, consent language, data processing agreements, or provider terms.
Acceptable use
Use PsyCloud to author, preview, host, monitor, and export behavioral research studies. Do not use the service to collect data that your study protocol, institution, recruitment provider, or local law does not permit.
Researcher obligations
Researchers are responsible for:
- Study design, ethics review, consent materials, compensation, and debriefing.
- Choosing what participant information to collect.
- Avoiding unnecessary direct identifiers and sensitive data.
- Verifying imported or generated studies before participant collection.
- Testing Prolific and MTurk workflows in sandbox before production recruitment.
- Storing downloaded exports according to institutional policy.
- Removing local copies and exports when they are no longer needed.
Platform boundaries
PsyCloud provides tooling for study hosting and data provenance, but it does not make a study compliant by itself. The platform cannot determine whether a protocol is ethical, whether a questionnaire is appropriate, whether compensation is fair, or whether exported data is safe to share.
Alpha limitations
- Availability, support, and feature completeness are not guaranteed.
- Self-service deletion and retention controls are limited.
- Importers and AI/code-generation workflows require researcher review before use.
- Production collection requires real operational hardening: secrets, CORS allowlists, storage lifecycle policy, backups, access control, and provider sandbox checks.
